At SANYO DENKI AMERICA, we believe in making a difference—both in the communities we serve and in the environment we share. As part of our ongoing commitment to corporate social responsibility, we’ve engaged in a variety of charitable and sustainability initiatives throughout the year. These activities not only reflect our values but also help us take tangible steps toward building a better future.
This year, our accounting team had the privilege of volunteering at the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank. Together, we assembled over 15,700 lbs of produce to support underprivileged families. This experience not only strengthened our commitment to community service but also inspired us to expand our efforts and make 2025 even more impactful.
During the holiday season, we partnered with the Department of Public Social Services (DPSS) for our “Adopt a Family” initiative. We sponsored the Jamerson family, who faced significant challenges due to the main provider being on mandatory bed rest. Thanks to the generosity of our employees, we fulfilled their holiday wish list, bringing joy and relief during a difficult time. Your collective efforts truly showed the power of community and compassion.
This year, we also participated in Operation Christmas Child, a global project by Samaritan’s Purse that delivers gift-filled shoeboxes to children in need worldwide. We were thrilled to collect 65 shoeboxes—surpassing our goal—and sending hope and joy to children affected by poverty, war, and natural disasters. The collective spirit of giving was truly inspiring!
Our team took part in the #OnigiriAction campaign, where posting photos of onigiri (Japanese rice balls) helped provide school meals to children in need. For every onigiri photo shared, five meals were donated. We are proud to have contributed to this global cause and encourage others to join in and spread kindness through simple actions like these.

In partnership with the Japan Business Association of Southern California, we participated in a beach cleanup event to help reduce litter and support the UN’s SDGs. It was a fantastic opportunity to engage in hands-on sustainability efforts and contribute to the protection of our planet. Special shoutout to Rui Kimura, who won a bottle of sake for his contributions!
As part of our sponsorship of Gator Motorsports at the University of Florida, we supplied cooling fans used in the battery pack of their formula EV race car. We are excited to support the innovative spirit of these future engineers and contribute to the world of sustainable automotive technology.
These small changes are part of our continued commitment to sustainability and reducing our environmental impact.
SANYO DENKI AMERICA remains committed to taking actionable steps toward sustainability and giving back to our community. As we move forward into 2025, we look forward to continuing our efforts and expanding our initiatives. We’re excited for the opportunity to make an even greater impact in the coming year.
